Here are some photos from Icelandic museums – the Textile Museum, the Herring Museum, and others. Most towns have a little museum of local history.
The Whale Museum was very interesting as well but didn’t have any knitting.

Mughal arrival

Yesterday the original sample of Mughal arrived in the post from Jaala at Knitcircus.
This is the current state of the semi-circle – it looks a bit like a cream cake – with lots of jam…
There will be a few more layers of stranding, then a knitted on border.
Yesterday we walked along the Glenmacnass river to a boggy mountain top – here’s Mini sitting on a peat hag -

At the weekend I went on a trip to the river Shannon – this is the 12th century Romanesque doorway of Clonfert Cathedral:
Clonmacnoise is nearby.
I’m working on the semi-circle again – wondering about increases.
