I love these. I’ve been lusting after the Colorshift yarns for a while, but not really sure how to use them
Smart dog!
Oh, wow! I particularly like the Lady Violet.
I love it! Simple lace stitches, but quite elegant.
Lady Violet glistens like taffeta. What colorshift colors did you use?
It’s the violet to midnight set
oh. Oh. (that’s all I’ve got – they’re beautiful. Gorgeous colours and very elegant.
I have never seen “Downtown Abbey”. I assume it’s a TV show and I’m going to try to watch as many episodes as I can. Love the shawl and love purple. Another shawl on my to-do list. How many have I made so far? More than a dozen I think. Thank you Kieran for another piece.
Incredible! Love LOVE them both
!
oops I see it is Downton Abbey (not Downtown). I ordered the DVD of the first two seasons so I will soon know what this is all about!
These colorshift yarns are indeed an art in itself. And you are right – Maggie Smith could have made a swooping entrance or departure with that amazing shawl, doing it full honor!
I just bought the pattern and yarn kit for Lady Violet. I’m in LOVE!!! One question–it’s not clear to me from the pattern if you knit to the end of each color and then start the next or if there is an appropriate spot for changing colors. Thanks! Really looking forward to knitting this.
Yes, I changed color at the beginning of a row when I felt there would not be enough to get to the end of the row – The are of plain stitches between the increase at the start of the row and the beginning of the diagonals is a good place to change from one color to the next.
Having fun making Shetland Ruffles as scarf using 2 different Noro sock yarns; alternating yarns every other row for a colorful rainbow stripe pattern. Will send pic when done.
